Cycling Initiatives
Programs that support and grow cycling in our community
Cycle North supports a number of initiatives that encourage more people to ride and stay connected through cycling. From community events to practical programs, these efforts help make cycling more accessible and enjoyable across Greater Sudbury.
BeaconRide
The BeaconRide brings people together through the shared experience of cycling. Built around community rides and welcoming events, it encourages riders of all ages and abilities to get outside and ride together. Whether you’re a regular cyclist or just getting started, the initiative is about connection, visibility, and celebrating the joy of riding.
Bike Month
Each June, Cycle North partners with the City of Greater Sudbury to celebrate Bike Month. Community rides, events, and activities throughout the month encourage people to explore the city by bike. It’s an opportunity for riders of all levels to experience how cycling can be a fun, healthy, and practical way to move around the community.
Bike Exchange
The Bike Exchange, partnered with Sessions Ride Company, helps keep more bikes in use across the community. Riders can bring in a bike that no longer fits their needs and exchange it for another. By redistributing bikes within the community, the program supports access to cycling while reducing waste.
